⭐ SOUTH ALIVE NEWS ⭐

What a year 2022 has been!!

It has been a special one for us here at South Alive as we have celebrated our 10th birthday. We have spent the year walking down memory lane with our Friday Flashbacks on Facebook, remembering all of the projects, big and small, and all of the people who have contributed along the way. We have also taken the chance to celebrate with all of our amazing volunteers who are the lifeblood of our organisation.

Of course Covid has continued to play its part in our lives with vaccine passes, isolations, and wave after wave of different variants. But through these challenging times we have also seen some incredible generosity and kindness from our community and it was amazing to see the community coming together again with some of our signature annual events like World Kindness Day and the South City Street Party.

Last week, the South Alive Pay It Forward Action Team packed and delivered 52 Christmas food packages to South Invercargill whanau. We were able to supply our normal range of staple food items and included some special treats for the festive season. We also added kit sets to make apricot truffles and lolly cake as holiday activity packs for children.

Special thanks to the community members who generously provided funds or goods to supplement what we had accessed through various food security funding streams. Thanks, as well, to the volunteers who happily gave their time to pack and deliver these goods and spread goodwill at this busy time of the year.

We look forward to welcoming in 2023 and all of the opportunities it may bring but for now….

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

From all the team here at South Alive
