THE 2019 YEAR IN REVIEW

2019 saw the completion of Stage 3 of The Pod with the opening of our two new community rooms: Paikea and Kewa. We have had fantastic support from the community for the new meeting rooms with over 340 bookings since they opened for bookings in February.

Some of the regular groups which meet there are the seniors’ friendship group, the rag rug group, embroidery and hand sewing group, crop swap, and youth gaming.

JOINING A TEAM

We have recently re-formed a group to progress the Dog Park Agility Course, and we are looking for more young people to join our Youth Team. If these, or any of the other groups, sound like something you would be interested in, contact us at info@southalive.org.nz.

And finally, it is time for us to give thanks…

To our volunteers
A huge thanks must go to our incredible volunteers.  Year after year our volunteers continue to give a huge amount of their time to our community.  South Alive wouldn't be here without their commitment, grit and passion. Thank you to everyone who has given their time and energy  – we’re truly grateful!

To our donors, supporters and funders
Our sincere gratitude goes to all the companies, organisations and individuals who have supported us with products, services and time throughout the year. We’d especially like to thank the Department of Internal Affairs, Community Trust South, Invercargill City Council, the Lottery Grants Board and Community Organisations Grants Scheme.  Your commitment to South Alive allows the ideas of our community, events and projects to come Alive!

To our community
Finally, thank you to our wonderful community for your amazing ideas and passion for your community.  Everything South Alive supports to make happen in South Invercargill is the result of community members telling us what is important to them.  We are grateful for your continued support of what we do, your participation at our events, and your belief in your community!

 End-of-Year Closedown
The South Alive Office will close on Friday 20 December 2019 and will re-open on Monday 13 January 2020. We wish you all a wonderful break over summer, and a healthy and prosperous New Year!
