South Invercargill is home to some of the most historic parts of Invercargill, so we are looking at developing a history trail to celebrate and acknowledge these sites. We could create a trail through South Invercargill taking in a number of sites such as the Southland Hospital with a long history of medical uses; the South Invercargill War Memorial on Elles Road; Kew Bowl, once regarded as potentially the fastest cycle track in the Southern Hemisphere; and the site of the Appleby Railway Station.
We have had some research done and these are just a few of the sites we have come up with, but we want to hear your thoughts.
What sites do you think should be included?
How do you want the trail to be shared? (e.g. through a brochure or an app on your phone)
Do you want be involved in making it happen?
You can send your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 27 September, or pop along to a drop-in session to discuss your ideas. Two drop-in sessions will be held from 4 - 6pm on Tuesday 10 and Tuesday 24 September.
