⭐ SOUTH ALIVE NEWS ⭐

Spring was in the air on the weekend with our annual Spring Flower Show making a come back. We had a wonderful day celebrating the wonderful gardeners of South Invercargill. Big thanks to all of the volunteers who put the event together and everyone who entered. Also thank you to Diacks for your support with prizes.

Team work
We are all about team work here at South Alive with
Fulton Hogan doing the mahi assisting us with improving our Ness Street side of the building. Also a bunch of busy bees from our Beautification Team along with some new comers to the community garden working bee. Thank you to everyone that was involved and keep up the great volunteering work you are doing – Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou.
South City Street Party – Friday 2 December
Save the date in your calendars and get ready for a big night of fun as we celebrate South Alive’s 10th birthday and get ready for Christmas with our South City shops! It will be a night filled with good food, entertainment and shopping and will be a great chance to grab a few Christmas presents.

We are on the look out for people keen to be part of the party. If you know of any street food vendors, craft stallers, entertainers then tell them to contact the South Alive office and we can secure them a spot at the festivities.

Share your views
Every year we hold a public meeting to hear your thoughts and ideas around what is important to you and South Invercargill. We are doing things a bit differently this year and instead of a public meeting we will be joining in The Pantry Village Market on 8 October with an area where you can come and chat, share your thoughts, and see what you can contribute too! South Alive’s strength is the people of South Invercargill so we really value all you have to offer. We can’t wait to see you there!

We went along to the Youth Expo at the Velodrome on the weekend and it was awesome to hear from so many young people about what kind of events and activities they would like to see happening here in South Invercargill. Movie nights, sports days, and art activities were all very popular ideas so watch this space for more events coming up this summer.

Big thanks to Number 10 for organising the event, and thanks to everyone who came along and shared their ideas with us, it was great to talk with you all!

Spring is here and we are loving it but we know that with the change of season comes hayfever for a lot of people, including some of our staff. Some people swear that by taking 2 Tablespoons of local honey daily over a period of 2-3 months that it can be a great help with the symptoms associated with hayfever. We are lucky to have some really great suppliers of honey so if you don’t already know who they are then call in and check them out.

In the spirit of Spring we have had a change around in the shop and we are really enjoying it. Along with the shop changes we are reviewing our range and we would be interested to hear from you about any products that you would purchase from us if we stocked them. You can email us at admin@thepantry.co.nz and let us know – it would be much appreciated.
